Stewardship Biochar for Social Impact

About Biochar On Site

The Biochar On Site program is launching soon! We’re excited to bring you innovative, place-based biochar solutions for wildfire risk reduction, forest health, agricultural sustainability, and climate resilience.

Our program focuses on accessible, practical methods like flame cap kilns, conservation pile burns, pit and trench burns, and mid-tech air curtain burners to create biochar where it’s needed most—right at the source. By keeping carbon local, we empower individuals and communities to improve soil health, water retention, and ecosystem restoration.

Dare to Imagine!

What if you could create biochar directly where organic waste is generated, transforming forestry residues, agricultural byproducts, and invasive species into a local climate solution? So that communities can reduce wildfire risks, improve soil health, leave cleaner air, and sequester carbon without the need for costly transportation or centralized facilities. For example, our Biochar On Site program teaches simple, scalable techniques like flame cap kilns, conservation burns, and air curtain burners to produce biochar that stays on site in the local environment, enhancing resilience and sustainability. That’s not all—our program empowers land managers with hands-on education, tools, and partnerships to turn waste into wealth, fostering greener jobs and stronger communities.
